Some common systematic categories are as follows.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Theology \u2013 The study of the character and attributes of God<\/li>\n<li>Bibliology\u2013 The study of the bible<\/li>\n<li>Christology \u2013 The study of Jesus Christ<\/li>\n<li>Pneumatology \u2013 The study of the Holy Spirit (<em>pneuma<\/em> is the Greek word for spirit)<\/li>\n<li>Soteriology \u2013 The study of salvation<\/li>\n<li>Hamartiology \u2013 The study of sin (<em>hamartia<\/em> is one of the Greek words for sin)<\/li>\n<li>Anthropology \u2013 The study of humanity<\/li>\n<li>Ecclesiology \u2013 The study of the church (<em>ecclesia<\/em> is the Greek word for assembly or church)<\/li>\n<li>Angelology \u2013 The study of angels and demons<\/li>\n<li>Eschatology \u2013 The study of the end times<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.ridgefieldbaptist.org\/web\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/bible-terms-640-360-640x220.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-1279\" src=\"http:\/\/www.ridgefieldbaptist.org\/web\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/bible-terms-640-360-640x220-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"bible-terms-640-360-640x220\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.ridgefieldbaptist.org\/web\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/bible-terms-640-360-640x220-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/www.ridgefieldbaptist.org\/web\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/bible-terms-640-360-640x220-70x70.jpg 70w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 150px) 100vw, 150px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Not all systematic theologies are created equal. Some do more work with church history versus the text of Scripture; others strive for readability over an academic tone; some are reformed while others lean dispensational; etc. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.reclaimingthemind.org\/blog\/2011\/01\/top-ten-systematic-theologies\/\" target=\"_blank\">Here<\/a> is a good survey of ten commonly used systematic theologies.<\/p>\n<p>If I were only allowed a single systematic theology in my library, it would be Wayne Grudem\u2019s. Grudem\u2019s work brings doctrinal precision with a great pastoral touch. Good news!
